Research: Last Year Acillary Project

Looking back at Last Years Digipak

I produced a practice Digipak last year for our short music video cover. This was done on Photoshop CS6 and followed the main conventions of a Digipak. This was done rather quickly however and looking back, I have noticed some rather huge errors which I will ensure doesn't happen this time. First of all the Artist/Bands name is not on the cover at all, for someone who may be unfamiliar to this artist/bands work, they would have no clue as to who is singing. The image is also not very well cut out. This was due to the fact that we had to use screenshots from our Music Video for this project. For the music video of Leon Cross, we have already planned to go take extra pictures using a top quality camera to keep the great quality when it comes to editing.

It wasn't all doom and gloom however, I did follow the basic ideas of having the face of the artist on the cover, and not letting the text go over his/her face. The title in the spine of the CD case. Along with those, I also included a bar code, which is of reasonable size. It is important to keep the bar code in the location I have kept it to follow the usual conventions and make the digipak look professional.
