Acting with Confidence
This blog post is just to quickly summarise some of the challenges and difficulties I came across during the production of my music video. Creating a Music Video is by no means easy work, from the planning to the final editing, you need to be 101% focused and committed to creating a perfect music video. Any mistakes or bits out of place can be picked up in a snap. One huge aspect of our music video was the acting and singing, which I had to do.
Here are some issues which were raised:
- Forgetting lyrics
- Failing to maintain eye contact with camera
- Being too stiff in front of camera
These were the main problems which I found myself facing during the last filming session so set out to work out ways to solve it. I asked a couple of friends, how they may respond to such situations and got some decent feedback which I think would be good to act upon. I've been listening to the track quite a bit recently, to get it really firm stuck into my head, not to the point where it's giving me a headache but is still ringing in the back of my mind at times. I think I'll be a bit more confident now in front of Camera, after experimenting with different styles of movement and dancing. I might've looked a bit silly in front of the mirror, but it certainly has given me an idea of things I could pull off, during the music video. I've also watched a couple of One Direction music videos, which contain a lot of dance moves and attempted to pick up a few key common moves which might look good. I've also reminded myself to leave time to groom up pretty well, as looking good, leaves you feeling good. And a confidence boost for filming tomorrow will surely help and be obvious in our music video after editing.
