When analysing various music videos such as One Direction 'Best Song Ever', 'Katy Perry 'Last Friday Night' and Ariana Grande 'Baby I'. We found a few similarities that could convey the conventions that made a pop video.
- Often use bright colours in their music video
- There is a lot of repetition of certain lyrics to make the song stick in people's heads
- Majority of the time, a pop song includes an upbeat tempo
- There is always a atmosphere of happiness and fun which is incorporated into the MV
- Pop videos always either, illustrates or amplifies the songs lyrics, disjuncture is a trait seen in music genres such as dancehall.
