Pop Music
Pop music is a term which originally comes from 'popular' and originated in modern form in 1950's, from rock and roll. It is described as 'ecletic' which is quite evident as it borrows various elements from other styles of music including country, rock, urban and dance. Pop is a genre which also includes sub genres such as indie pop, electro pop and synth pop.
Michael Jackson is renowned as the 'King of Pop' and is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by the Official Guinness World Records. "His contributions to music, dance, and fashion, along with his publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades."
One Direction have used stylists and video directors to help create the ultimate package which has successfully pulled in the interest of millions of teenage girls. Signed under Simon Cowells label, SYCO, they have proven to achieve worldwide success as a Pop Boyband.
